At 56 Jennifer Aniston Credits This 30 Minute Workout for Preserving Strength and Muscle Tone

For Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston, staying fit once meant 45-minute high-intensity cardio workouts like running and boxing. Over time, years of demanding exercise signaled the need for a gentler yet effective routine. That realization led her to Pvolve, a low-impact, functional strength training method designed to support the body without unnecessary strain.

Prioritizing Strength and Longevity at 56

Now 56 years old and working closely with her longtime trainer Dani Coleman, Jennifer focuses on strength, balance, and long-term health. Instead of chasing intensity, her routine centers on movements that promote stability and sustainability over time.

Why Strength Training Matters More With Age

Muscle supports our skeleton,” Jennifer explains. “As we age and naturally lose muscle mass, our bones can become more fragile, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. One of the biggest concerns for older adults is falling and breaking a bone due to insufficient muscle support. That’s exactly what we want to avoid.”

Wellness Beyond the Workout

Exercise is just one piece of Jennifer’s overall wellness lifestyle. In a recent interview with Women’s Health, she spoke about the daily habits that help her feel energized, centered, and content, including spending quality time with her two beloved dogs.

Jennifer Aniston’s Healthy Habit Q&A

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

After letting my dogs, Clyde and Chesterfield, outside to play, I prepare 16 ounces of water mixed with colostrum, hair-growth peptides, and the juice of one whole lemon. I drink it 30 to 45 minutes before having coffee or breakfast.

Who inspired you early in life?

My grandmother. I loved sitting with her in the kitchen while she made spanakopita, cookies, and Greek pastries. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always showed me so much love.

What simple moment brings you the most joy?

Nothing beats curling up on the couch with my dogs, getting comfortable, and watching a great show together.

Your must-have habit for physical longevity?

Maintaining healthy muscle mass is essential. I do Pvolve sessions with my trainer, Dani, about three to five times a week, and I sometimes add a Pilates class to keep things varied.

How do you support your mental well-being?

I try to meditate every day. Even if I can’t manage a full 20 minutes, I still take 10 minutes—or even a brief pause—to breathe, reset, and calm my mind.

When did you last feel truly accomplished?

I feel that sense of accomplishment after finishing a meaningful project. Completing something that required real effort is incredibly fulfilling. Most recently, I felt that way after wrapping season four of The Morning Show.
